Open to students of virtually all levels, this is where you will be introduced to sparring and active training. Whether you are just starting your Jiu-Jitsu journey or just looking for a new academy, this class is for you. A variety of essential techniques are reviewed and executed with drilling partners and then we move into free training "rolling" where students can put their skills to use with a training partner. A Gi is required for this class. We can provide a loaner Gi if needed.
No-Gi allows Jiu-Jitsu practitioners to practice without a Gi. Jiu-Jitsu techniques are reviewed and executed with drilling partners and then we move into free training "rolling" where students can put their skills to use with a training partner. Spats and a Rash Guard should be worn, if you have any questions about requirements, please contact us.
AGES 4 - 7
The object of this class is to teach the children self-defense movements, through playing, rolling, and moving out from under danger.
We teach them techniques on how to move, recover from an attack if they fall, and how to retreat to safety. Jiu-Jitsu helps to build confidence and teaches to be prepared when someone puts his/her hands on them. They train this way to learn how to remain calm and in control rather than to panic. The children participate in games that were designed to teach them how to focus on a single objective.
AGES 7 - 13
The object of this class is to give our older kids confidence and security so they are comfortable under stress and in intense situations. Not only during confrontational situations like being grabbed, being thrown on the ground, or being held under and the opponent but in their daily life, walking into a new class for the first time. With the lessons of Jiu-Jitsu, they will have an inner friend, a set of tools they can call on. Whether in play or attack, we are teaching self-defense, and they will learn how to remain calm during these scenarios and how to make better decisions.
Competition Team is invite-only. Your level of technique, dedication to the art, and attitude overall play a role. When a student competes under the Machado name, you represent our Academy, instruction, and lineage. It is a great honor for both the students and our Academy. If you are interested in competing please contact us or speak with Professor Todd.
Private instruction is great whether you want to get a private introduction to Jiu-Jitsu or fine-tune your library of skills. Our Black Belt Professors are available to work one on one with you. Please contact us for pricing or with any questions you might have.
Gi or No-Gi. Open Mat is a free training session with no instruction. Open Mat is open to all affiliations and is free of charge. We ask that you follow our school rules and remain respectful when you visit our Academy.
