TODD WHITE

4th Degree Black Belt

A native of San Antonio, Texas, I moved to California in the early '90s to pursue a career in art. I was always involved in sports, especially Martial Arts, and once I settled in I started training at a local gym. It was not too long after that I met a gentleman who trained in a little known art (at that time) called Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Jean Jacques Machado. Upon my first visit to his academy, I was instantly hooked. I knew I found what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I spent years honing my craft, first as a student, then as a competitor, and finally as an instructor. The lessons I learned on the mat helped me in my everyday life. As a result, I have been able to establish a career as a successful artist. Through it all, Jiu-Jitsu has been a constant in my life. Because of this, I was reluctant to leave California but family came first and I wanted my kids growing up in the great state of Texas.

Upon telling Jean Jacques I was heartbroken to leave he expressed interest in me bringing his teachings to Austin and the opportunity to open an academy with my mentor Jean Jacques was an opportunity that was too good to pass up.

It is my goal to offer the people of Austin and surrounding communities the opportunity to experience the world-class instruction I have spent nearly half my life attaining.  Jean Jacques and I have created a learning environment that is professional, challenging, and most of all fun.
